Protective
Footwear
It may not be necessary to
always wear steel tips when working on your Jeep. It
all depends on what you are doing. Wearing proper
footwear should be considered for the kind of work being
performed. Cutting, welding, grinding are the types of
activity that can cause injury to your feet if not properly
protected. Even falling tools and parts can be a
threat to your feet.
|
These may be
appropriate when driving your Jeep or
washing it they don't have much place in
the garage while working. |
Sneakers or regular
boots are typically sufficient when working in the
garage. Many Jeepers will retire an old pair
of shoes to the garage. If you are spending a
lot of time on your feet an old pair of shoes will
cause your feet to get sore and tired.
Steel Tip or Steel
Toe
Safety-toe footwear
are shoes which have a steel toe cap underneath the
leather toe cap and protect the wearer's toe from
moving or falling objects. Safety-toe footwear needs
to comply with the requirements and specifications
of the latest version of American National Standard
for Safety-Toe Footwear, Z41.1. |
Specialty
