Continuing on from page 2. Now that the front part of the kit is installed the rear section can be installed and tied into the forward center section.
If your Jeep has door surrounds you can try to test fit and trim as needed. Ours required quite a bit of trimming in the front part.
Really at this point all the bolts could be installed and tightened up but some areas might require removal to fit the covering. The rear bar can be installed too, we chose to not use it. Next is to trim and reinstall all of the bar padding and the covering. The requires some time and test fitting as you go.
With all of that out of the way you are near finished..install the seat belt assembly and install the padding for the new bars. We left the factory padding totally off the section of bar that is over the door.
In general the fitment of this kit is rather nice, I kinda wish some of the clamps would fit together better…some have a small gap due to the factory bar being a bit thicker. The grab bars at the door are real nice.
Personally, I don’t like the bar across the dash. It really obstructs the view and the hood can’t really be seen. I also don’t like the top center section..it makes the Jeep feel a bit cramped when the top is off since the overhead view is obstructed.
