The Rough Country Seat Riser TJ kit comes complete with spacers and the proper sized bolts. The TJ seats use two different size bolts. The rear inner bolt is larger, probably for added strength for the seatbelt which is attached to the seat.
Installation
This job can be done in about an hour and only requires a few tools. We took some extra time to clean the underside of the seat as well as the floor below the seat.
Basically the 4 seat bracket bolts were removed. You can lean the seat forward or backward to position the spacer under the bracket. We used a little anti-seize on the bolts to make them easier to remove in the future if needed.

We have a Tuffy Lock Box under the driver seat in the jeepfan.com TJ and we needed to experiment which position was the best for installation with the spacers. in the end we decided that the lock box under the spacers worked best.

The bolts are all tightened up and the job is pretty much complete. The cleanup under the seats was very satisfying.
It’s a little odd feeling at first when sitting in the Jeep and it’s a pretty significant difference to the feel and perspective. There’s more leg room for the taller people and more height for the shorter people. The shifter is strangely noticeably further away and lower.
All in all this is a perfect little upgrade making the seating position better in every way. The seat does still fold/flip normally without interfering with the steering wheel or windshield.
