We needed a winch for the jeepfan.com 2004 TJ Unlimited so we looked to Extreme Terrain for a reasonably priced winch that will fill the needs of the Jeep. They recommended the Barricade 9500lb winch which includes a 94 foot orange synthetic rope to keep the weight down and stand out. It’s standard mounting pattern made installing it on the Barricade HD front bumper we recently installed a snap.

Installation
The Barricade bumper features an integrated winch mount along with a fairlead mount. Your installation may vary depending on the mounting style on your Jeep.
The winch uses four mounting bolts and four nut inserts. The nut inserts are installed before the winch is placed. Install the nut inserts and mount the fairlead to the bumper. Place the winch in place.
We got stopped here by the rear bolts that wouldn’t go through the bumper mount holes due to hitting the tubular crossmember located below. It may be best to install the winch with this bumper off but we decided to oval the rear bumper winch mount holes just slightly to allow the bolt through. After a quick grind job the bolts were in and the winch was ready for the bolts.
With the winch bolted in place the fairlead was mounted onto the bumper.
