This started out to be a visit to Paragon to check out a little used section of the property and turned out to be a challenging and enjoyable day.

Glenn’s 85 CJ-7 has little problems off road. One area that could use some improvement is a crawl ratio of 32.3:1 that is somewhat high. The T-176 transmission has a 3.52 low gear and Glenn’s Jeep has 3.54 axle ratios. The Dana 300 transfer case offers a 2.62:1 low range which makes Glenn’s Jeep tolerable …
Here you have it a great way to start of the New Year, though I did choose not to attend the fun but cold (so I heard) New Years Eve Paragon activities! Crawling out of bed at 6:00am doesn’t work very well when you get home at 3:30am from your own New Years Eve activities.
The Line Mountain 3.5 Miler is 3.5 miles of racing through the woods. The course consists of a variety of terrains from rocks, mud, ruts, hills, and straight-a-ways.
The Detriot EZ-Locker is an inexpensive but very effective means of obtaining a true locking differential in your Jeep. Recently we picked up one from OK Auto and installed it into Glenn’s 85 CJ-7.
