Well it’s been a month and 1500 miles on the new JK. I am still very happy with it and and REAL glad I got the 4 door instead of the 2. Mind, I still love the 2 door also but you just can’t beat the room and convienience of the 4 door. I have had several opportunitites to drive without the roof panels and it is a pleasure, overlooking the teeth incident.

Some real nice things…
- Satellite radio – I LOVE satellite radio, I tried the other day to listen to the regular radio but after 2 minutes of commercials I switched back.
- Power windows – no explanation needed.
- Power locks/keyless entry – no explanation needed here either.
- Traction control and ESP – excellent in the rain and snow, the Jeep seems to have a mind of it’s own and it’s good. I was trying to do donuts in the snow and it’s almost impossible with the ESP on.
- Sloping hood – an inceased slope on the hood allows for better forward visibility.
- Good gas mileage – I have been averaging 18.8.
Some not so nice things…
- Lack of engine power – DCX, could we please have at least 50 more HP? The Jeep does hold it’s own but it’s absolutely no speed demon.
- Defrosters – I think it needs an extra vent or two to help melt the snow and ice off the bottom corners of the windshield.
- Not enough storage cubies up front. There isn’t enough little places to stuff things like sunglasses, gloves, and what not.
Oil change coming soon.
