And for my next act…I live in PA and the winter weather is finally starting to pass on to make way for spring, that means open air Jeep time. I was so excited, today it was almost 80 and I wasn’t going to miss a chance to drive with the JK roof panels out. So here’s the story…
I removed the driver side panel without incident but that’s where it ends. I remove the passenger side panel and was walking to the rear of the Jeep to put the panel in the back. I was still lowering the panel from the height of the Jeep roof and the panel happened to be at mouth level, here’s where it gets bad. During this series of motions I happen to run into the side mirror bracket on the Dodge Ram pickup parked next to me, the panel hits the mirror and stops dead and I do not. With the panel at mouth level I rammed right into it (which is now against the truck mirror) with my front teeth. I guess I was smiling due to the impending joy of open air driving.
After a few seconds I realize I just busted off a chunk of two of my teeth on the freaking roof panel! One of my front teeth and the one next to it, OMFG! After a minute or two of being grossed out I composed myself, put the roof panel in the Jeep, and placed a call to the dentist. I could not believe what had just happened. I have been injured dealing with my Jeeps in the past but not like this.
A good side…if there is, I did get my ride in the spring weather.
MORAL: Teeth break before roof panels.
BTW, there was no damage to the roof panel and there will be NO images.
