Reader Question: I am trying to get my odometer to read properly on my 2002 Jeep Liberty. My question is if i change my speedometer cluster out with another known good one will the mileage on the transfered cluster be what will read. For example mine reads 68,000
now if i change it with one that reads 45,000 is that what will show on the odometer or is the mileage stored in the ECU and the didgital odometer just a read out. Any help would be great. Thanks Dave

Answer: The mileage is stored within the cluster and would need to be reprogrammed at the dealer. I’d suggest taking it there first to have them verify the mileage before you replace the cluster. The dealer should be able to reprogram the new unit after installation.
